Some Enchanted Evening

A true gem from the 1949 Rogers and Hammerstein musical, “South Pacific”. Andrew Lloyd Webber described this beautiful piece as “the “greatest song ever written for a musical.” It has been covered numerous times by an astounding array of artists including Perry Como, Bob Dylan, Bing Crosby, Willie Nelson, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Placido Domingo and Art Garfunkel. In addition to a youtube of Giorgio Tozzi singing it in 1958 film version, I have also included a second charming video of classical crossover singer, Jackie Evancho, singing it in concert in 2012. She was then twelve years old at the time.
