A song by French composer and singer, Charles Trenet, who recorded it in 1946. It has remained a “chanson classic” and jazz standard ever since. This TAB is an abridged version. Trenet and others repeat the verses here a second time in a faster, swinging beat which is challenging for the strumstick. An version of this song with different lyrics in English called “Beyond The Sea” was most famously covered by Bobby Darrin.
