There are several Irish ballads, and an Irish lament named “Foggy Dew” . This one chronicles the Easter Uprising of 1916, and encourages Irishmen to fight for the cause of Ireland, rather than for the British Empire, as so many young men were doing in World War 1. This is in a lower key than Sinead O’Connor sings but it works.
