The original title of this song by Newfoundlander, Ron Hynes, is “Sonny’s Dream”. It’s one of my all-time favourites and has been covered by many artists. I love this version with lyrics slightly adapted by Donal O’Shaughnessy and sung by Emmylou Harris, Mary Black and Dolores Keane.
