John Denver wrote this song in 1973 as an ode to his then wife, Annie Martell Denver. Denver was in Colorado skiing and the feeling of total immersion in colours and sounds which filled all his senses inspired him to write about his wife.

I’ve had to do this in a lower key for the Merlin.
