This jaunty and amusing song is easy to play, with only two lines of melody repeated. Johnny Todd is an English folk song which may have originated in Liverpool where it was sung by children to accompany skipping games. Versions of the song have also been discovered in other parts of Britain so its precise origins are uncertain.
