This one has been extremely challenging. Cohen’s lyrics are brilliant and his melodies haunting, but his style of singing slightly off-key makes it difficult to model a TAB on him. Instead I have used Jeff Buckley. For one line in each verse I have had to go down an octave. In the first verse it begins with “The minor fall…”. This is to avoid going unpleasantly high on the strumstick and to make the song playable on the Merlin. It’s not ideal, but I think it works. I like the effect of barring across all the strings on some notes, or just strumming, but you can play only single notes if you wish.
