Stay (Merlin)

Maurice Williams wrote the song in 1953 after he made exactly this plea at a dance. (He was only fifteen years old and his date kept her curfew.) In 1960, he recorded it with his group, The Zodiacs. It has since been covered by The Hollies, The Four Seasons and Jackson Browne. It has also been on the soundtrack of two films, “American Graffiti” and “Dirty Dancing.”

A caution…this tab is a compromise since doing the falsetto voices of the original was not possible. Also the Merlin lacks some notes. It’s playable and fun, however.
