This song, written in 1967, was first released as a single by Frankie Valli. It was one of his biggest hits and earned a gold record. It has been recorded in many different arrangements by many artists and is a staple of TV and film soundtracks. Surf Mesa did a version of only the chorus in 2019 called “I Love You Baby”. I have used Andy Williams as a model for the strumstick and merlin.
