A popular and well-known Irish song, probably dating from the 17th century. It tells the tragic story of a young girl who is a fish- hawker on the streets of Dublin and dies young of a fever. Although there is little evidence that she was a real person, Molly has become a beloved legend and a statue was erected to her in 1988.
