A popular song written in 1891 by Charles K. Harris. It was featured in the 1951 musical film, “Showboat” where it was sung by Kathryn Grayson, a coloratura soprano who had an extraordinary vocal range which cannot by duplicated on the strumstick. For this reason I have abridged the song and focused on the well-known chorus.
